Copy Editor, TechTarget CIO/IT Strategy Media

The CIO/IT Strategy Media Group at TechTarget is seeking a copy editor with online production skills to assist the Managing Editor with responsibilities for four websites, including SearchCompliance.com. 

The Copy Editor will be responsible for reviewing and editing articles for style, grammar, spelling accuracy, consistency and search engine optimization before posting articles to our websites. The content to edit will include news articles and features. The copy editor must apply good principles of English grammar and style as outlined in the AP Stylebook and TechTarget’s own style guide to create high-quality final products. The copy editor will also assist with editing and production of assorted e-products and update the daily homepage content for multiple websites, as well as RSS feeds.

Essential Job Functions:

• Provide copy-editing support for editorial team;
• Producing content in content management systems;
• Understand and apply search engine optimization techniques to content;
• Work with Managing Editor and Art Director to produce e-books and ezines; and,
• Assist Managing Editor and Site Editors in site management responsibilities.

Knowledge, skills and abilities required:

• Bachelor's degree;
• 1-2 years experience copy editing;
• Familiarity with search engine optimization;
• Some experience with content management systems;
• Knowledge of Associated Press style;
• Ability to quickly learn TechTarget style; and,
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team that includes remote members.
