TechTarget Executive Management
Much of TechTarget's core management team has been in place since the company was founded in August 1999. The team manages based on the principles of collaboration, knowledge and creative thinking. Their ability to execute in a results-driven environment is one of the keys to TechTarget's success.
Each individual is an accomplished professional, as well as an active hands-on manager. Their collective experience includes 15 start-up firms, the execution of several successful initial public offerings and the completion of a number of major acquisitions.
Greg Strakosch, Chairman, CEO and Co-Founder
Greg Strakosch, Chairman, CEO and Co-Founder, has led the company from start-up to public company (NASDAQ: TTGT).
Since its launch in 1999, Strakosch has grown TechTarget into the leading online media company in the technology market, with more than 100 websites. The company has approximately 650 employees in Newton, MA, San Francisco, Atlanta, Cincinnati, London, India, Sydney, Singapore and Beijing. A host of organizations has recognized TechTarget’s success and the innovation and leadership that Strakosch has brought to bear.

Prior to founding TechTarget, Strakosch was President of the Technology Division of United Communications Group (UCG), a leading business-to-business information provider, where he grew the business more than 15-fold in six years through internal growth, new product development and acquisitions. Strakosch joined UCG when the company acquired Reliability Ratings, a successful IT publishing company he founded Before Reliability Ratings, Strakosch spent six years in senior sales and marketing positions at EMC Corporation, which he joined as the company's 29th employee.
Strakosch has a B.A. from Boston College.
Michael Cotoia, Chief Operating Officer
Michael Cotoia is responsible for overseeing organizational operations for TechTarget. He has over 18 years of experience in finance, sales, and management.
Mike joined TechTarget in 2002 and has most recently been serving as Executive Vice President. Previously he held positions of Vice President of Sales as well as Publisher of TechTarget Storage media, CIO media, and Channel media – which he launched in 2006.
Prior to joining TechTarget, Mike was Director of Sales at SANZ, a national storage integrator, where he ran their commercial sector and grew revenues over 300 percent by building strategic partnerships with Hitachi Data Systems, StorageTek, Veritas, Sun, and FalconStor. Additionally, Mike worked at EMC Corporation where he managed major accounts in the oil & gas and transportation industries, and Deloitte & Touche as an auditor with a focus on technology firms.
Mike received his B.A. from Babson College and is a Certified Public Accountant.
Kevin Beam, President
Kevin Beam is responsible for the strategic direction and performance of TechTarget's media groups and audience development efforts, which include all TechTarget Web sites, member outreach, and events. He has over 20 years of experience in IT publishing and technology sales and marketing and most recently served as Executive Vice President.
Kevin joined TechTarget in 2000 as vice president, responsible for developing the market strategy for the company’s portfolio of targeted IT Web sites. In later years, he assumed responsibility for the largest and most successful media units in the company as executive vice president and publisher of TechTarget's Storage, Security and Windows Media groups. In that role, Kevin has managed TechTarget's most highly-trafficked Web sites and overseen the development of TechTarget's conference model, the launch of its conference division, two successful magazine launches, the acquisition of Information Security magazine, and the launch of nearly a dozen highly targeted Web sites.
Prior to joining TechTarget, Kevin was vice president of the Technology division of business-to-business information publisher United Communications Group (UCG), where he was responsible for the launch or acquisition of more than a dozen publications and the implementation of hundreds of successful conferences and seminars. With TechTarget CEO Greg Strakosch, Kevin co-founded Reliability Ratings, an IT publisher acquired by UCG in 1992. He began his career at EMC, a world leader in storage technology, where he spent five years in sales and sales management positions.
Kevin holds a B.A. from Boston College.
Don Hawk, Co-founder, Executive Director of Product Innovation
Don Hawk, Executive Director of Product Innovation, is one of TechTarget's co-founders and leads TechTarget’s product creation and enhancement efforts. Don works with the company’s highly talented team of product managers and product development professionals to develop innovative solutions for the company's advertisers and member base of enterprise IT professionals.
Under his leadership, TechTarget has consistently led the market in creating new ways to reach targeted IT professionals. Most recently, the Company has built the most sophisticated platform in the business-to-business market for understanding audience research and buying intent, with “Activity Intelligence.”
In June 2004, Media Business magazine named Don a "Top Innovator in Business Publishing" in new media. He has extensive experience in product development in business-to-business environments. Don was the President of TechTarget from its inception through 2011. Prior to co-founding TechTarget, Don was Director of New Media Products for the Technology Division of United Communications Group (UCG), a leader in business-to-business information services. While at UCG, he launched Search400.com, the flagship site for TechTarget.
Prior to joining UCG, Don was the Director of Electronic Business Development for Telecommunications Reports International (TRI), where he created TRI's first Web site and a line of business derived from licensing electronic TRI content to large organizations.
Don received his B.A. and Masters from George Washington University.
Janice Kelliher, Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer
Janice Kelliher is Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer for TechTarget. In this role, Janice has overall leadership responsibility for the strategy, operations and compliance of all of the Company’s finance, treasury and control functions.
Janice has over 25 years of financial and business management experience and joined TechTarget in 2011. At the start of her career, she was an audit manager for Deloitte & Touche, which she left to become Treasurer of a start-up organization. She then became CFO of The Harder Group, a venture capital group specializing in credit and collection related companies. She was appointed CFO and later CEO of one of its portfolio companies, GWA Information Systems, Inc. For three years, Janice was a Director of the Emerging Business practice for Accounting Management Solutions, Inc. Most recently, Janice was a partner with TechCFO, a consulting firm specializing in CFO services for a variety of technology-related clients.
Janice earned a B.S. degree in Accountancy from Bentley University and is a licensed CPA.
