Features Writer, TechTarget CIO/IT Strategy Media

TechTarget's CIO/IT Strategy Media Group is launching a new site dedicated to electronic health care, and is seeking a Features Writer to write in-depth analysis and feature stories on health care information technology, including requirements for an electronic health care infrastructure. Topics would include technology deployment, IT organization, regionalization, interoperability and funding issues. This writer will be responsible for producing articles of interest to IT administrators, managers and technicians in the health care field, as well as hospital chief information officers and chief medical information officers. Ideal candidates should have at least five years' experience reporting and have some knowledge of the health care IT field.

Essential Job Functions:

• Write under deadline; produce 2 to 3 pieces of content a week;
• Produce clear, concise copy;
• Develop sources and generate story ideas;
• Cover live events and breaking news; and,
• Travel to relevant conferences and trade shows

Knowledge, skills and abilities required:

• Minimum of five years' journalism experience; health care writing preferred;
• Bachelor's degree in journalism, English or related topic;
• Solid understanding of news writing, journalism ethics and story structure;
• Strong understanding of AP style and basic grammar and punctuation;
• Some familiarity with the high-tech industry and technology topics;
• Ability to work in deadline-driven, team-oriented news environment; and
• Creative sensibilities and self-motivation.
