Features Writer, TechTarget CIO/IT Strategy Media

TechTarget is seeking an experienced Feature Writer to cover the CIO management and IT strategy, specifically as they relate to cloud computing, software as a service, business intelligence and business application technology. This position, for SearchCIO.com, requires writing three to four articles every week, contributing to blogs and other social media, producing multimedia content and working closely with our editorial team and news director on related site projects. The Feature Writer will keep abreast of industry news and trends, develop and maintain close relationships with industry end users, experts and analysts. Articles may take the form of industry trend stories, case studies, interviews and tutorials. Candidates should have experience covering management and technology beats and aptitude for learning about technical concepts and writing for a technical audience.

Essential Job Functions:

• Covering  IT strategy and technology management;
• Developing strong content and story ideas;
• Reporting on industry trends; writing features and analysis;
• Producing multimedia projects monthly or as assigned;
• Working with social media and online communities; and,
• Covering relevant trade shows and conferences

Knowledge, skills and abilities required:

• Minimum of five years' reporting experience, preferably covering the high-tech industry;
• Knowledge of the basic fundamentals and ethics of news writing and editing;
• An ability to develop and maintain industry contacts for sources and story development;
• Ability to produce clear, concise copy;
• Strong organizational skills; Ability to hit tight deadlines; and,
• An undergraduate or graduate degree in journalism or English.
