Vice President, Information Technology

Needham, MA

TechTarget is seeking a VP of Information Technology who will be responsible for providing business and technology leadership and direction. The VP will work closely with Senior Management to develop and implement IT and IS strategies that support the company’s strategic objectives. The VP will provide day-to-day management and direction to the IT Corporate Operations, IT Production Operations and Database Services teams

Essential Job Functions:

  •  Responsibility for meeting the information technology needs of the business and its employees;
  • Responsibility for innovation and leadership in developing and implementing technology initiatives that support the company’s goals and objectives;
  • Oversee and manage the organization’s corporate information systems, product information systems, desktop support, and facility management;
  • Establish overall strategy and direction for systems planning, systems architecture, operations and support, networks,  and security for corporate and production IT infrastructure;
  • Ensure that the company’s technology infrastructure and operating procedures meet or exceed current standards;
  • Identify emerging technologies to prepare infrastructure to support future business needs;
  • Commit to quality and ongoing improvements to IT and IS processes and procedures;
  • Responsible for IT SOX compliance and overall IS security;
  • Develop and manage the operating and capital budget for IT Operations; and,
  • Manage and direct vendor selection and management

Knowledge, skills and abilities required:

  • At least 10 years of professional related experience with a minimum of 5 years experience in a Senior IT role;
  • Excellent time management, communication, decision-making, presentation and organizational skills;
  • In-depth knowledge of computer and web site operations and technology, including the provision and support of hosted services;
  • Strong business analysis and project management skills;
  • A self-motivated, team-oriented individual with a proven track record of implementing highly-available, high performing enterprise architectures;
  • Experience integrating IT/?IS environments of acquired organizations; and,
  • Experience managing environments with the following technologies and or vendors is desired:  Linux, MySQL, Oracle, SAN (EMC/STK), Tomcat, Resin, VMware, Juniper Networks, Extreme Networks, F5 Big-IP, Exchange 2007, etc.
