Site Editor, TechTarget Technology Guide

Cincinnati, OH

TechTarget's TechnologyGuide team is seeking a Site Editor who will be responsible for creating and maintaining its newest website, DesktopReview.com, a site that enables users to find desktop computer reviews, information and prices, and user discussion. The Site Editor is required to be an expert in the industry and must continually stay abreast of trends and issues by continually speaking with users and industry experts, and reading and researching the latest trends in the market. The Site Editor is responsible for delivering on a mission that makes the site one of the top information review sources in the market of desktop computers.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Managing all content on the site including writing original articles, trends, features and product reviews;
  • Edit content generated by other staff members, or users;
  • Establish market leadership by fostering strong ties with the user community, identifying important issues and trends through research, and maintaining a regular dialog with technology leaders;
  • Attend industry and tradeshow events; and,
  • Ensure the business success of the site and related properties. This includes meeting and growing traffic month-to-month and year-to-year; creating/reviewing opportunities for new site features, meeting budget targets and editorial calendaring.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree;
  • Five years experience writing about or editing technology topics preferred;
  • Expert understanding of desktop computers, related hardware, peripherals, software, and a willingness and ability to learn more about these products;
  • Strong writing, editing and verbal skills;
  • Ability to manage resources;
  • Strong computer/Web skills;
  • Ability to juggle many tasks simultaneously;
  • Intellectual curiosity, innovation, high standards, adherence to deadlines, a competitive nature, and the ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment; and,
  • Willingness to travel (required approximately 5% of the time).
