Site Editor, TechTarget Application Development Media

TechTarget is seeking a qualified Site Editor for www.searchWinDevelopment.com. The Editor will be responsible for driving the content strategy, editorial and news coverage on the site while editing content submitted from the expert community. The Editor will be responsible for creating and editing news articles, features, tips, newsletters and blog posts while doing SEO research and reviews. Some basic job requirements will be visiting development experts and vendors and videotaping, audio taping and interviewing them; covering events as a reporter, creating written and multimedia content; production and creation of mediacasts and videos; recruiting topical experts and soliciting and editing expert content; creating and editing site and topical surveys; posting and administering the appropriate blogs; create search engine optimized and sponsorable guides and more. The site editor will also manage the site newsletter process. The site editor must already have a solid understanding of Microsoft development tools, techniques, and respective markets as well as the Microsoft ISV ecosystem and how they contribute to the needs of our readership.

Essential Job Functions:

• Managing all content on the site including writing original articles, news, trends, features and product reviews;
• Edit content generated by other staff members, end users, and industry experts in the field;
• Establish market leadership by fostering strong ties with both the end user community and Microsoft; identifying important issues and trends through research, and maintaining a regular dialog with technology leaders and industry experts;
• Attend industry and tradeshow events; and,
• Help to ensure the business success of the site and related properties. This includes meeting and growing traffic month-to-month and year-to-year; creating/reviewing opportunities for new site features, meeting budget targets and editorial calendaring.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

• Six-plus years as a fully qualified editor working in the application development space;
• Direct knowledge of Microsoft development technologies and its ISV ecosystem;
• The ability to immediately contribute at a high, fully-qualified level;
• Education and/or experience in both journalism and application development;
• Strong writing, editing and verbal skills, including copyediting and proofreading.
• Willingness to travel occasionally.
