Internship: Product Marketing Intern, TechTarget CIO Decisions Media

Needham, MA

TechTarget is seeking Product Marketing Intern to help drive the overall success of the CIO Decisions Media Group’s growth efforts. This is a great opportunity for a college student interested in online marketing or publishing.

Essential job functions:

  • Internal Account Research – research accounts that are currently spending advertising dollars on TechTarget Media. Determine which accounts should be spending new/additional dollars on CIO Media based on their Go-To-Market initiatives (and current/past campaigns they have run with TechTarget). Successfully map each account to the appropriate CIO Decisions Media Group product offering(s) based on these Go-to-Market initiatives;
  • Company Profiling – research customers and prospects over the web to determine products offered by clients and prospects, pricing for those products, and any significant initiatives of new product announcements they might be offering;
    Competitive Ad tracking / reporting – read and monitor competitive print publications, websites, and email newsletters to determine where and to what extent our customers and prospects are spending with competitors. Record results into CRM System (SalesLogix); and,
  • Competitive Analysis – Assist Director of Product Management in compiling competitive data for the purpose of creating sales collateral that demonstrates TechTarget’s competitive edge against its competitors in the CIO markets (Enterprise and Midmarket).

Knowledge, skills and abilities required:

  • Desire to pursue a career in marketing / PR or related field;
  • Pursuing a bachelor’s degree. Some coursework in marketing, marketing management, business, and / or communications. Strong liberal arts candidates will also be considered;
  • MS-Word, MS-Excel skills required;
  • An interest in technology and business a plus; and,
  • Above average written and oral communication skills.
