TechTarget and Westwick-Farrow Forge Partnership in Australia and New Zealand

Strategic partnership designed to create Australia's and New Zealand's first comprehensive online platform for highly targeted news, editorial features, expert advice and white papers for the IT industry.

Information-technology (IT) media company TechTarget and Westwick-Farrow Publishing today jointly announced a strategic publishing partnership in Australia and New Zealand. Westwick-Farrow Publishing and TechTarget will launch the first Websites in October of this year. The sites will provide practical, highly relevant information in the form of white papers, industry analysis, market studies and product information to help corporate IT professionals make purchasing decisions, develop the best technological solutions for their enterprise environments and manage future IT challenges. In addition to content supplied by TechTarget, Westwick-Farrow, one of the leading technology publishers in Australia, will also add local news, white papers, and information about developments in the IT industry Down Under.

“In the last six months alone, TechTarget has established a significant media presence in the U.K., Germany, Singapore and the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN),” said TechTarget CEO Greg Strakosch. “Through our partnership with Westwick-Farrow, we are pleased to be extending TechTarget’s trusted brand and content to critical markets in Australia and New Zealand. The Australian information and communications technology market alone is today worth US$38 billion and is the third largest in the Asia-Pacific region, after Japan and China. With Westwick-Farrow, one of the most established and respected technology publishers in the region, we believe we can begin to provide multinational advertisers with a serious way to engage IT professionals in this rapidly growing market.”

The availability of ROI-based advertising on the Websites sets the TechTarget/Westwick-Farrow media apart from the competition. TechTarget’s proven online and integrated media programs provide measurable Return on Investment to IT marketers. Beginning in October 2006, Westwick-Farrow (via their Voice&Data print and online division) will offer similar programs to their advertisers.

Westwick-Farrow plans to roll out two Websites in September based on TechTarget’s award-winning content. The new sites will focus on current ‘hot’ IT subject areas, Storage and Security. With an emphasis on generating sales leads, the sites will be provide advertisers with tangible proof of the return on investment (ROI) in online advertising. They will also be linked to Voice&Data Online (www.VoiceandData.com.au), Westwick-Farrow’s daily IT news and eNewsletter portal, which currently has 35,000 monthly user sessions from over 6,800 subscribers across Australia and New Zealand.

In addition, Westwick-Farrow also plans to publish local supplements of TechTarget’s CIO Decisions, Storage and Information Security magazines in Voice&Data, Australia’s leading ICT monthly b2b magazine, commencing in early 2007.

“We are excited and challenged by the changing landscape in b2b publishing, and see our alliance with TechTarget as a great way to leap ahead of the pack with our online offering to the ICT sector in this region.” commented Voice&Data publisher, Geoff Hird. “We are confident the ROI and lead generation model that TechTarget has pioneered in the US will be very well received here and look forward to making TechTarget Australia one of their most successful partner operations across the world.”

Additionally, TechTarget will also sell TechTarget Australia and New Zealand products.
