TechTarget's Storage and Information Security Win Six “Tabbie” Awards
Both Magazines Receive Gold and Silver Awards in International Competition
NEEDHAM, MA – July 15, 2005 – Information technology (IT) media company TechTarget announced today that Storage and Information Security were honored with six awards in the "Tabbie" competition organized by Trade, Association and Business Publications International (TABPI).
The second annual competition recognizes design and editorial excellence in English-language trade, association and business publications from around the world. The 2005 competition received almost 700 entries from publishers across the globe, more than twice the number received last year. The competition covers 12 editorial categories, ranging from Editor's Column to Best Single Issue, and six design categories, including Opening Page or Spread and Front Cover Photograph. Magazines with a publication date between January 1, 2004 and December 31, 2004 were eligible for entry.
Storage and Information Security Awarded for Design and Editorial
- Information Security's monthly "Products" section received the Gold for the Product Section Category. The section, dedicated to providing readers with honest assessments of security products through hands-on tests and reviews by experts and users, is written and edited by Features Editor Neil Roiter and Editor-in-Chief Andy Briney.
- Storage Vice President of Editorial Mark Schlack took Silver in the Editor's Column category for his April 2004 editorial, “Intelligent Confusion,” which points that vendors have failed to prove a value proposition for next-generation smart switches. The editorial gives readers a clear perspective on where their interests lie relative to this exciting but immature technology.
In addition, Storage and Information Security won several honorable mentions, including:
- Front Cover, Photograph: Storage—“Salary Survey.” Rich Hartlove, photographer; Mary Beth Cadwell, art director. (December 2004)
- Feature Article: Storage—“Regulations Squeeze Storage.” Rich Castagna, executive editor. (July 2004)
