Information Security Magazine Announces “Security 7”

Information Security Professionals in Seven Vertical Industries Chosen for their Commitment to Excellence

NEEDHAM, Mass.— October 3, 2005 — The TechTarget Security Media Group — producers of the most authoritative trade media and conferences for enterprise information security professionals — announced the winners of the first annual “Security 7” awards today. The Security 7 recognizes the achievements of the leading managers of information security in seven vertical industries. Winners were chosen in the financial services, telecommunications, manufacturing, energy, government, education, and health care industries.

Nominees were judged by a panel of industry experts in conjunction with the editors of Information Security. Winners were selected for the significance of their contribution to the research, management or application of information security technologies, policies and practices. Executives from IT security vendors were not eligible for the award.

The Security 7 will be honored at a special luncheon on October 19, 2005 at the Information Security Decisions conference in New York City. Each winner is profiled in the October issue of Information Security and on the magazine's Web site.
