TechTarget Acquires Web's Most Heavily Trafficked Source of White Papers Written by Information Security Professionals
Acquisition of SecurityDocs.com to Provide Additional Channel for TechTarget Advertisers to Reach InfoSec Pros as They Conduct Pre-Purchase Research
NEEDHAM, Mass.— November 2, 2005 — Information-technology (IT) media company TechTarget, the Web’s no.1 source of white papers for enterprise IT professionals, today announced the acquisition of SecurityDocs.com, the Web’s largest and most heavily trafficked source of white papers written and rated by information security professionals. The acquisition adds more than 2,500 white papers to TechTarget’s library of IT white papers. TechTarget is the no. 1 distributor of enterprise IT white papers on the Web, serving a larger number of IT professionals and executives -- and generating more revenue from that activity -- than all other IT publishers combined.
TechTarget will continue to operate SecurityDocs.com as a separate site and will expand the range of white papers offered on the site, adding security-focused white papers from its extensive collection of vendor-sponsored IT white papers. With the acquisition, TechTarget can provide vendors of infosec products and services with an additional high-traffic channel to reach targeted audiences of enterprise IT security decision-makers responsible for influencing or approving their organizations' security-related purchases. TechTarget's security-focused Web sites SearchSecurity.com and SearchWindowsSecurity.com generate over 700,000 pageviews each month from their active communities of infosec professionals.
SecurityDocs.com was acquired as part of TechTarget's purchase OverDocs.com, which provides peer-written and peer-rated information for IT professionals.
