CIO Decisions Editor-in-Chief Maryfran Johnson Named to min Magazine’s “21 Most Intriguing People”
NEEDHAM, Mass.— November 14, 2005 — Information technology (IT) media company TechTarget announced today that Maryfran Johnson, editor in chief of TechTarget’s CIO Decisions magazine, was named one of min magazine’s "21 Most Intriguing People" in its annual issue celebrating the year in publishing. This is the second consecutive year a TechTarget executive has been named to the list; in 2004, min honored TechTarget CEO Greg Strakosch. min recognized Johnson for being “possibly the most awarded journalist in b2b publishing.”
An AccessIntelligence publication, min magazine is an annual glossy serving publishing executives in business-to-business and business-to-consumer media.
The list of the "21 Most Intriguing People" was chosen by min editors for their imagination, commitment, and strategic vision in the magazine industry. Other industry leaders among this year’s "21 Most Intriguing People" include John Byrne, executive editor of BusinessWeek; Jack Griffin, president of the Meredith Publishing Group; and Greg Osberg, Newsweek's executive vice president and worldwide publisher.
Johnson has more than 24 years’ experience in journalism, with the majority of her career spent covering high tech with International Data Group (IDG) publications. Prior to joining TechTarget, she served as editor in chief of IDG’s Computerworld. In her five-year tenure as editor in chief, Computerworld's editorial team earned more than 100 awards, including the prestigious Jesse H. Neal National Business Journalism Award. In 2004, American Business Media honored Johnson with the inaugural Timothy White Award for editorial courage and integrity.
The min profile chronicles Johnson’s journalism career, including her move to TechTarget in 2004 to launch CIO Decisions magazine.
