TechTarget CEO and President Named to Media Business Magazine’s “Who’s Who in Business Publishing”
NEEDHAM, Mass.—December 14, 2005 --Information technology (IT) media company TechTarget announced today that the company’s CEO, Greg Strakosch, and president, Don Hawk, were named to the inaugural “Who’s Who in Business Publishing” list by the editors of BtoB’s Media Business magazine. Hawk and Strakosch were chosen for demonstrating innovation in all media by developing highly targeted IT websites, magazines and live events. In addition, BtoB cited the company’s aggressive international expansion, acquisition of Bitpipe in December 2004, debut of CIO Decisions magazine in April 2005 and launch of LeadPRISM (a suite of lead management services) earlier this year, as further evidence of the company’s leadership in the IT publishing industry.
"Who’s Who" names the top 100 major players in b-to-b publishing, including Harold “Terry” McGraw, chairman-president-CEO of McGraw Hill Cos.; L. Gordon Crovitz, president of Dow Jones Electronic Publishing; and Jim Berrien, president-publisher of Forbes Magazine Group.
Strakosch and Hawk co-founded TechTarget in late 1999. To date, TechTarget has developed more than 25 targeted IT Web sites, four profitable magazines, a dozen conferences and hundreds of custom events. The company pioneered new media and event models focused on delivering advertiser ROI and addressing the needs of highly targeted audiences of IT professionals. TechTarget achieved profitability in 2002 and has nearly 500 employees based in San Francisco, Calif. and Needham, Mass.
"We’re honored to be named to Media Business’ first ‘Who’s Who in Business Publishing’ list," said TechTarget CEO Greg Strakosch. "TechTarget has been able to prosper in the struggling tech publishing industry because of our innovative business models and advertiser offerings. TechTarget’s highly targeted media properties and exceptional customer service have made us a success, and will continue to drive the company’s revenues in the future."
