TechTarget and Storage magazine Announce 2006 “Products of the Year”

Editors Select Best-in-Class Enterprise IT Storage Products

The editors of TechTarget’s Storage magazine and today announced their annual “Products of the Year” Awards. The Awards span five product categories — Storage Management Software, Backup Hardware, Backup and Disaster Recovery Software, Disk and Disk Subsystems, and Networking Equipment — and single out 15 new or enhanced products that enterprise IT professionals should consider adding to their “A” lists of products to evaluate.

The products were judged by the editors of the Web site and publication in conjunction with teams of users, industry experts, analysts, and consultants. Judges evaluated more than 200 products introduced, upgraded, and shipped between October 27, 2005 and November 3, 2006. The judging panel selected Gold, Silver, and Bronze award winners within each product category.

The selection of winning products was based on six criteria:
