Andrew Roughan
Managing Director, Plexal
A career technologist and business transformation expert with experience in the datacentre and communications sector, Andrew co-founded innovation and technology hub Here East in the former press and broadcast centre at the London 2012 Olympic Park after the games ended.
As chief operating officer, he played an instrumental role in creating a new ecosystem and community to bring together enterprises, startups, scaleups, academics and creatives, and helped bring over 3,500 new jobs to East London.
Following the establishment of tech startup hub Plexal at Here East, Andrew moved across to become managing director in 2018, where he is charged with leading the innovation centre in convening a community of digital expertise to solve some of society's most pressing challenges. He is also involved in the London Office for Rapid Cyber Security Advancement or Lorca, which is based at Plexal.
