David is a director in the employment and pensions team. He assists employer clients to understand and negotiate difficult issues around data protection and privacy, particularly where those issues have an effect on the employment relationship. He also advises on industrial relations, TUPE, discrimination and whistleblowing matters across multiple sectors, including technology.
His recent experience includes advising a multinational rail operator through, and following, a difficult contract win, involving the transfer in of staff and a significant industrial dispute which led to proposed strike action. He also recently acted in a high value, multi-jurisdiction race discrimination claim which involved the application of complex foreign legislation on data protection and privacy.
David regularly speaks at public and bespoke training seminars and publishes employment and privacy related posts on the team’s blog. He also trains cross-discipline teams at clients on the privacy implications of handling employee data and dealing with subject access requests.
