Software Expert

Lofi Dewanto is a software expert, published author and trainer specializing in Java and open source technologies. He has nearly 30 years of experience in Java programming, i.e., since its inception. He focuses on model-driven architecture and software development as well as open source frameworks and tools, including Java, Spring Framework, GWT and J2CL.

Lofi has been a key advocate for Java and open source software in Germany since the early 2000s. He built the first e-learning platform based on Java 2 Enterprise Edition (OpenUSS), played a pivotal role in the launch of JavaMagazin and actively champions open source Java solutions in the region. He frequently speaks at prominent conferences, including CampusSource, OOP, JAX, JCON, FrOSCon, Navigate and IT-Tage.

His advocacy extends to the enterprise adoption of open source software, where he promotes frameworks such as the Open Source Maturity Model (OSMM) and the Open Source Adoption Maturity Model (OSAMM) to help organizations effectively integrate open source solutions. He also has contributed to several open source Java projects hosted on SourceForge and GitHub.

Lofi holds a doctoral degree in business informatics from the University of Münster in Germany.
