Mary K. Pratt is an award-winning journalist specializing in enterprise IT, cybersecurity strategy and data management. Her recent work examines how leading organizations navigate AI readiness, digital governance and technical risk.

She has been a full-time freelance journalist since 2000, following nearly a decade as a newspaper reporter and editor in Massachusetts. Her reporting has earned multiple industry awards, including recognition from the American Society of Business Publication Editors, the New England Newspaper & Press Association and the Society of Professional Journalists.

Beyond enterprise reporting for CIO, The Wall Street Journal and MIT Technology Review, Pratt is the author of 12 nonfiction books for students. She is also co-founder of The Waltham Times, a nonprofit newsroom covering Waltham, Massachusetts.

She holds a bachelor's degree in journalism and English from Boston University.
