Gary lives in Roswell, Ga., with his wife, Colleen. They have five children and 16 grandchildren. Gary has worked in the IT industry since 1983 and holds a Master of Science in computer-aided manufacturing from Brigham Young University. Gary was on Microsoft's Windows 2000 beta support team for Active Directory from 1998 to 2000 and has authored two books on Active Directory and numerous technical articles for magazines and websites, including TechTarget, TechNet and Redmond Magazine. Gary worked for Digital Equipment Corporation, Compaq, HP Inc. and Hewlett Packard Enterprise in various positions, including consultant and system software engineer from 1992 to 2011 and as a solution architect from 2011 to 2017. He has presented on technical topics numerous times at the HP Technology Forum, HP Discover, Microsoft TechEd, TechMentor and other technical conferences. Gary was named a Microsoft MVP for 12 consecutive years and is currently chairman of the annual Atlanta TechStravaganza event. Gary now works as a technology consultant and freelance author.
