Editor's note

User conferences provide IT professionals and vendor partners the chance to hear about the most recent tech announcements and software updates and to make connections. VMworld, now named VMware Explore, ran from Aug. 29 to Sept. 1 in San Francisco and offered attendees an in-person look at the latest from virtualization giant VMware.

Attendees received insights into the multi-cloud advancements VMware is bringing to its software portfolio. They also learned how to build out cloud-native apps, secure their infrastructure and automate VMware tasks across multiple networks.

CEO Raghu Raghuram's keynote outlined how organizations can use VMware technology to support a hybrid workforce, as well as other developments the company has in store for the coming year.
