Mixed reactions for VMware SDDC, EVO:RAIL at VMworld
Two main talking points at VMworld 2014 were the software-defined data center and hyperconverged infrastructure, mainly because of two new releases from VMware. The company launched vRealize, its new management suite for the software-defined data center (SDDC), and EVO:RAIL, its first step into a family of hyperconverged infrastructure products. VMworld attendees had a mixed reaction to the products, with some praising the simplicity of EVO:RAIL. On the other hand, some IT pros thought a few of the big players were missing on the list of EVO:RAIL's hardware partners.
