VMUG (VMware User Group)

A VMUG (VMware User Group) is an international community of VMware users whose goal is to share knowledge.

VMUG provides members with opportunities to collaborate online and in person. A basic VMUG membership is free, but an Advantage-level membership costs $200 for individuals or $180 for individuals who are part of a larger corporate package. The Advantage-level membership includes discounts for VMware certification exams, VMware-delivered classes,  Fusion and Workstation licenses and the VMworld conference.

VMware has created a VMUG Board of Directors comprised of  local chapter leaders to oversee the organization. The VMUG board also produces the monthly VMUG Voice newsletter, which covers community news, global sponsors and best practices from other VMUGs. As of September 2013, there are more than 80,000 VMUG members in 186 chapters worldwide.
