Eric Ridvan Üner

CTO, Redwall Technologies

Eric Uner is an industry-recognized scientific expert in the areas of embedded systems and information security, with over 25 years of experience developing secure embedded systems as well as secure, high-performance enterprise-scale applications. His research into applying biological defense models to computer systems and chaos theory led to the patented algorithms used in the HYDRA cyber-defense appliance targeted at the Defense and Intelligence markets. An evaluation that involved Federal agencies and integrators described the product as "a paradigm shift in server technology." His products have been deployed by multiple government agencies to protect highly sensitive networks, as well as by banking and other industries globally. He has also created malware and exploits for multiple industries not for research, but as practical, fielded attacks.

His work, including his software vulnerability equation, has been published in journals internationally. He holds numerous patents in the area of information security, including random sequence algorithms, methods for tamper protecting critical data in non-volatile memory, IoT/SCADA security and mobile security.

Mr. Uner started his career at Motorola where he conducted research at the Security and Privacy Technology Lab entailing high-assurance technology, processor architectures, cryptography, security protocols and applications of security concepts for mobile electronics and other industries. He then co-founded and grew a software consulting firm to $6M in just two years, resulting in a Deloitte & Touche Fast 50 Award ranking. He most recently co-founded Redwall Technologies, where he currently serves as the CTO and architects security solutions for mobile and IoT systems, conducts security evaluations and develops targeted exploits and defenses.

Mr. Uner holds a BS in Computer Engineering from Iowa State University, Ames, Iowa, 1990, and has an active DoD clearance.
