Pouyan Pourbeik received his Bachelor of Engineering and Ph.D. in electrical engineering from the University of Adelaide, Australia in 1993 and 1997, respectively. From 1997 to 2000 he worked for GE Power Systems. From 2000 to 2006 he worked for ABB, an automation company. From 2006 to 2016 worked for Electric Power Research Institute. Since April 2016 he has worked with Power and Energy, Analysis, Consulting and Education (PEACE) PLLC. He previously served as both the chairman of the International Council on Large Electric Systems (CIGRE) Study Committee C4 -- System Technical Performance and the IEEE Power and Energy Society Power System Dynamic Performance Committee. He is a registered professional engineer in Texas and North Carolina, a fellow of both the IEEE and CIGRE, and an honorary member of CIGRE.
