Shawn Chandler

Shawn Chandler is an IEEE Senior Member and CTO of GridCure, a predictive analytics software company serving the global utility industry since 2016. He has 30 years of experience as a technology and utility professional and has made contributions to industry and government bodies including global utilities, national laboratories, IEEE, NIST, U.S. National Governor's Association and U.S. Congress and the United Nations. Prior to GridCure, Chandler was the Director of Analytics for Berkshire Hathaway Energy, a $100B energy conglomerate. Prior to BHE. He held senior technical and management roles at Navigant Consulting -- now Guidehouse -- Pacific Northwest National Laboratory, Bonneville Power Administration and Portland General Electric.
Chandler is a frequent contributor to thought leadership in both the energy and communications industry through IEEE, the largest technical professional organization in the world. He has served as Chair for three of IEEE's technical consortiums including IEEE Power & Energy Society's Smart Buildings and Customer Systems Technical Committee, IEEE Internet of Things Smart Cities consortium, and the IEEE P2418.5 Energy Blockchain interoperability Task Force. In 2017, he served as the Smart Cities Chair for the Internet of Things World Forum held in Singapore, drawing together more than 700 leaders from around the globe to develop a technology-oriented smart cities vision concerning energy, transportation and communications. In 2018, Chandler was an invited contributor to the U.S. Congressional Smart Cites Caucus. In 2019, hewas an invited contributor to the United Nations 2050 Roadmap on Sustainability. Chandler has authored more than 50 articles within industry literature, including peer reviewed journals, magazines and web sources. He is a current member of the editorial board for the IEEE Internet of Things Magazine.
