A list of vendors that have withdrawn from HIMSS 2020 conference
*The HIMSS 2020 conference has been cancelled.
The details of the 2020 HIMSS Global Health Conference & Exhibition are changing daily. Citing coronavirus concerns, some vendors have decided to withdraw from the event, which is set to take place in Orlando, Fla., starting March 9.
HIMSS stated it will not confirm what vendors have decided not to attend the conference, so we’re keeping a running tally here:
- Amazon. The company has halted domestic travel for employees, and that includes to HIMSS 2020. In a statement, Amazon said it, “reached this decision after much consideration, as the health and safety of our employees, customers, and partners are our top priority.”
- The CARIN Alliance. This collaborative, which includes members such as Apple, Allscripts, Cerner and Google, announced on Twitter that they will not be attending the HIMSS 2020 conference. Instead, they will hold sessions virtually next week.
- Change Healthcare. One of nine anchor vendors for the exhibition. Change Healthcare opted out of HIMSS “out of an abundance of caution.”
- Cisco. One of the first companies to publicly withdraw from the HIMSS 2020 conference, Cisco specifically cited concerns about the coronavirus outbreak as the reason behind their decision.
- eClinicalWorks. Another of nine anchor exhibitors at HIMSS, the company announced on Twitter that it will not be attending or exhibiting at the HIMSS 2020 conference.
- Google. Due to coronavirus concerns, the company “has decided to reduce its presence at HIMSS 2020.”
- Greenway Health. Due to the “evolving public health risks associated with the coronavirus outbreak,” Greenway Health has withdrawn its onsite attendance from HIMSS 2020.
- HL7. Health Level 7 International said it will not staff or host presentations in its HIMSS 2020 booth, but will instead make presentations and material available at a later time.
- IBM. The company has implemented travel restrictions for its employees through the end of March, and has withdrawn its attendance from HIMSS.
- Intel.The company has restricted travel to events, including the HIMSS 2020 conference, and said “the safety and wellbeing of all of our employees is our top priority.”
- LexisNexis Risk Solutions. The exhibitor will not be attending HIMSS 2020 next week, a source confirms.
- Lumiata. The company tweeted that it would be withdrawing from HIMSS 2020 and rescheduling its HIMSS Women in Health AI breakfast to be a virtual event.
- Medicomp Systems. In a tweet, the company said attending HIMSS 2020 “poses an unacceptable risk for our people, their families, and our entire community.
- Meditech. The major EHR vendor announced it is suspending its HIMSS 2020 attendance due to coronavirus concerns.
- Microsoft. The company announced that “out of an abundance of caution, we’ve made the difficult decision to withdraw from participating at HIMSS 2020.”
- MITRE Health. With the “health and safety of our MITRE community in mind,” the company announced via Twitter that it is withdrawing from the event.
- PointClickCare. The company has withdrawn from HIMSS 2020, citing concerns for their customers. In a statement, the company said “senior care providers, our customers, care for one of the highest risk populations for respiratory infections and, as such, we feel it is our responsibility to minimize unnecessary risk.”
- Pure Healthcare. The company announced on Twitter that it was withdrawing from the event and said it believes “this is the correct decision given the public health concerns.
- Rauland. The company will not be participating in HIMSS 2020.
- Salesforce. While the company said it “couldn’t be more committed to the healthcare industry and HIMSS’ mission,” it determined that withdrawing from the event was in the best interest of “all of our stakeholders.”
- SAP. The company canceled attendance at HIMSS, as well as all other conferences in March.
- Siemens Healthineers. Saying it was a difficult decision, Siemens Healthineers has decided not to participate in any trade show this March, including the HIMSS 2020 conference.
- Tableau. The company announced travel restrictions for employees, saying they “are limiting in-person participation at large-scale events” in March.
- TriNetX. The company announced on Twitter that it had decided not to attend the HIMSS 2020 conference. It would’ve been their first time exhibiting at the event.
- Validic. On Twitter, the company announced it has canceled its HIMSS appearance and said “as a company in healthcare, it is our responsibility to put people’s health, safety and welfare first.”
