Jeff Kato is a senior storage analyst at Taneja Group Inc. in Hopkinton, Mass. He focuses on
converged and hyper-converged infrastructure, as well as primary storage.
Jeff has more than 30 years of data storage industry experience. Prior to joining Taneja Group,
he held several senior and executive manager positions at Hewlett-Packard (HP). As the director of
engineering at HP, Jeff led the development of HP's StoreOnce data deduplication products and
enterprise tape libraries. As an HP engineer, he received several patents in the area of data
reduction and invented the industry’s first commercially viable embedded data compression
technology available in tape products. Jeff was also actively involved in setting strategic
direction for HP storage.
