Jefferson Health, NeuroFlow launch mental health platform
Jefferson Health and NeuroFlow have launched the platform to enable clinicians to survey patients, set reminders and encourage positive behaviors between in-office visits.
NeuroFlow Inc. and Jefferson Health have launched a digital mental health platform to give clinicians the tools and data needed to provide patients with help.
The two organizations worked together with the goal of creating a product that enables data interpretation but still focuses on the user experience of clinicians and patients, according to Jefferson Health. The platform will be available at 20 Jefferson Health system locations spanning primary care, obstetrics and gynecology, and behavioral health.
The platform, which is available on mobile, was designed to enable care management in between traditional office visits -- it enables clinicians to send surveys to patients, set reminders and encourage mindfulness and meditation sessions. The data is then collected and reviewed by the patient's clinical team to look for unusual behavior or treatment struggles. Patients can also use the platform to communicate with clinicians.
Technology has become increasingly common in identifying and treating mental health issues. From chat bots to mindfulness apps, companies are finding new ways to use tech in the mental health field.
At the end of April, Espyr launched Realyze, a software for employers to identify and help employees who are suffering from mental illness. Realyze uses an online behavioral health risk assessment, and employees who score within moderate- to high-risk levels are contacted by a licensed behavioral health professional.
Additionally, in the U.K. in 2017, Prime Minister Theresa May launched a multimillion dollar funding package to develop and implement new digital tools for mental health services, including software so people can check their symptoms online and get digital therapy immediately, rather than having to wait for an in-person appointment.
A school in Virginia recently used the Qlik Sense software program to provide predictive analytics using data, such as a student's attendance record, to identify a potential mental health problem and reach out to offer resources.
NeuroFlow and Jefferson Health's platform is HIPAA-compliant and interoperable with electronic medical records.
