TechTarget and Vogel IT Media Announce Strategic Partnership to Launch Highly Targeted IT Media for the German Market

Leading German IT Publisher Joins Forces with TechTarget to Create Best-of-Breed Websites

Information-technology (IT) media company TechTarget and leading German business publisher Vogel IT Media, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Vogel Business Media, announced today the formation of a strategic partnership to expand TechTarget’s highly targeted approach to technology media to Germany. Working together toward this common goal, the two companies will combine their strengths and market knowledge to create powerful media that address the specific needs of IT decision makers and IT vendors in the German market.

Vogel IT Media and TechTarget will launch the first Websites in German and English in October of this year. The sites will provide practical, highly relevant information in the form of white papers, industry analysis, market studies and product information to help corporate IT professionals make purchasing decisions, develop the best technological solutions for their current environments and manage future IT challenges. The availability of ROI-based advertising on the Websites sets the TechTarget/Vogel media apart from the competition. TechTarget’s proven online and integrated media programs provide measurable Return on Investment to IT marketers. Beginning in October 2006, Vogel IT Media will offer similar programs to their advertisers. In a market that has experienced increasing demands on the part of IT marketers, this is a differentiator that will benefit Vogel IT Media and their customers.

“Vogel IT Media is the ideal partner for TechTarget to enter the German market,” said TechTarget CEO Greg Strakosch. “Combining our strengths in ROI-focused IT media with Vogel’s audience of German IT professionals, its knowledge of the German IT market and relationships with technology vendors makes this a win-win situation. TechTarget’s proven model – addressing specific IT market segments while meeting the information needs of IT decisions-makers and marketing needs of IT vendors—will be highly successful in Germany .”

“Our partnership with TechTarget, a true pioneer in delivering highly targeted technical information to IT decision makers, represents a major milestone for Vogel and for the business communications landscape in Germany as a whole,” said Vogel Business Media CEO Claus Wüstenhagen. “This initial step by Vogel IT Media moves Vogel Business Media closer to the development of tomorrow’s B2B communications. The key success factors for the new strategic direction are continuous innovation, digitalization, internationalization and new advertising models for our customers – TechTarget succeeds at all of these. Our overriding goal is to always offer all of our users the best possible information services, and our partnership with TechTarget helps accelerate our ability to achieve this goal.”

The Vogel IT Media partnership is TechTarget’s tenth international partnership within two years. Already this year, TechTarget announced partnerships with Netremedia Pte Ltd, a technology media company headquartered in Singapore, and Saga Technology, an IT publisher in Bulgaria.
