VMware Project AppShift

VMware Project AppShift is technology designed to improve the experience of using virtualized Windows and its applications on non-Windows tablets.

VMworld 2012 attendees saw a brief demonstration of Project AppShift, which showed how AppShift can make common Windows tasks, such as pointing and clicking or selecting text, easier to perform on touchscreen devices.

VMware Project AppShift uses what the company refers to as user interface virtualization to alter the user experience without actually changing the underlying Windows application. The technology is part of the VMware Horizon Suite.
