legacy storage
Legacy storage is storage hardware or storage software that is still functional, but is either outdated or unsupported.
Legacy technology often become "legacy technology" because it still works and it may simply cost less to work with the legacy technology than it would be to replace it. Legacy storage will begin to lose its value as it becomes less compatible with newer storage technologies. The tipping point will eventually arrive when the legacy technology is no longer able to meet the organization's business needs in a cost-effective manner.
