Intronis launches ECHOplatform with fixed pricing model
The new ECHOplatform combines all of the company's products under one umbrella and is available at a fixed monthly price with unlimited storage.
Channel-exclusive cloud backup and recovery vendor Intronis Inc. today announced a new fixed pricing model for the new Intronis ECHOplatform.
The Intronis ECHOplatform puts all of the vendor's offerings under one umbrella, including the recently added support for physical system images and Hyper-V virtual machines, and is available to the company's 2,000 partners on the U2 Plan, a fixed monthly pricing model with unlimited cloud and local storage.
According to Aaron Dun, chief marketing officer at Intronis, the new offering changes the dynamics for managed service providers (MSPs) and their customers.
"[With the new pricing model] MSPs don't have to justify the value of their services against the cost of storage as they did with a price-per-gigabyte model and instead are able to have a more strategic conversation with customers about a data protection strategy for their business," he said. "SMBs will be able to make a more strategic decision about what should be backed up versus what's going to get backed up based on concerns about cost," he added.
The Intronis ECHOplatform consolidates and simplifies for partners how they go to market with Intronis because they'll have access to a variety of services, plug-ins and extensions such as physical imaging, VMware and Hyper-V, and SQL and Exchange backup.
The consolidated platform allows MSPs to design and deploy a complete data protection strategy for their SMB business customers. By creating a single foundation for the Intronis products, the vendor was able to move away from the traditional per-gigabyte pricing model to the U2 Plan, according to the company.
"The partner pays us a fixed price for the entire platform and, in turn, they can sell unlimited cloud local storage to each SMB based on our platform and not have to deal with per-gigabyte pricing or storage limitations or overages, etc. -- the things that have bedeviled the industry for a while now," said Neal Bradbury, cofounder and vice president of channel development at Intronis.
New partner resources, such as cobranded collateral materials and campaigns in a box, will be available to help Intronis partners market and sell the ECHOplatform with U2 pricing plan.
In a few weeks, Intronis will go to beta testing with a new bare metal recovery (BMR) product, for interested partners.
