Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich (ICS)

Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich (ICS) is a version of Google’s mobile operating system.

New features in Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich include facial recognition technology for unlocking the screen, an application programming interface (API) for virtual private network (VPN) integration and an app that monitors mobile data usage. It also offers a new user interface, advanced camera features and an improved native email app.

Android 4.0 ICS is designed to run on tablets as well as smartphones, to address the problem of Android fragmentation. (Android 3.0 Honeycomb was specifically for tablets, and Android 2.3 Gingerbread and earlier versions were for smartphones.)
