IT Governance Institute (ITGI)

The IT Governance Institute (ITGI) is a branch of ISACA, an independent, nonprofit, global association engaged in the development, adoption and use of globally accepted information system (IS) knowledge and practices.

The IT Governance Institute was established by ISACA in 1998 to "advance international thinking and standards in directing and controlling an enterprise's information technology." The ITGI provides research, publications and resources on IT governance and related topics to assist enterprise leaders with ensuring IT strategy supports the business's mission and goals. The institute compiles both original research and that of outside sources on its web site, with information on topics that include the following:

  • Aligning IT goals with those of the business
  • Measuring IT performance
  • Establishing IT-related risk management strategies
  • Optimizing business IT investment
  • Using IT to deliver business value
