phablet
A phablet is a computing device with a screen size between four-and-a-half and seven inches, measured diagonally. As the name implies, the device is essentially a tablet that also functions as a phone. However, the smaller size makes it easier for users to carry them around in pockets or small bags, as is customary with smartphones but less common with tablets.
In addition to a phone, a phablet usually has all the features of a tablet, such as a touch screen, a virtual keyboard, a mobile operating system and browser, an integrated camera/webcam and customized apps.
Current and near-release phablets include Samsung's Galaxy Note II, HTC's Titan II,Toshiba's Muse and LG's Optimus LTE and Intuition.
Words like "phablet," that are created from parts of two different words, are known as portmanteaus.
