virtual commerce (vCommerce, v-commerce, or vCom)
Virtual commerce (sometimes known as vCommerce, v-commerce, or vCom) is a type of application, service, or product feature that helps enterprises implement strategies and design Web sites for e-commerce (the buying and selling of goods and services using the Internet). The term "virtual commerce" is sometimes used as a synonym for e-commerce itself.
Another type of virtual commerce application is a program that simulates business and entrepreneurial environments for educational purposes. In one version, for example, students create, develop, and run their own virtual (computer-simulated) businesses using virtual money. They also trade virtual stock and interact with virtual clients and customers.
The term "vCommerce" is sometimes used to refer to voice commerce , in which computer users interact with Web sites incorporating voice recognition technology.
