ContinuousNEXT

ContinuousNEXT is a business strategy suggested by Gartner that urges companies to make change management an integral part of all operations. Gartner is a United States technology research and advisory company that has over 15000 clients in over 100 countries. ContinuousNEXT, which emphasizes perpetual innovation, integration and delivery, is the next evolutionary phase of what the research firm calls digital transformation (DX).

As defined by Gartner, the five imperatives for chief information officers (CIOs) to implement a ContinuousNEXT strategy include:

Culture - build a corporate culture that encourage employees to embrace the idea of continuous improvement. On the technical side, this may include the adoption of continuous development (CD), continuous deployment, continuous integration (CI), continuous quality (CQ), continuous data protection (CDP) and continuous backup (CB).  In human resource management (HRM), this may include continuous performance management (CPM).

Privacy - maintain consumer trust with a corporate privacy plan that mandates adequate privacy controls.

Augmented Intelligence - focuses on artificial intelligence's assistive role, emphasizing the fact that AI is designed to enhance human intelligence rather than replace it.

Digital Product Management - fuse technology into all aspects of a company's operations.

Digital Twin – provide stakeholders with a high level view of how the organization functions by creating a Digital twin of the organization (DTO) that models systems, processes and worker interactions.

Gartner analyst Don Scheibenreif explains how emerging trends and digital business models drive the need for a ContinuousNEXT strategy.
